TRBank provides secured business and consumer loans using fast and efficient credit processing. Stem Financial made a majority investment in the bank in July 2018 and has worked closely with management to improve its commercial operations as well as its governance, risk and support and control functions. In 2019, the bank was renamed from Tanay Rural Bank to TRBank in recognition of its development into a Manila based bank serving all of Luzon. Since Stem Financial’s investment, TRBank has grown its loan book by ~24% (6 year CAGR). Revenues and deposits have grown by ~20% compounded over the same period. Stem Financial works in close partnership with Asialink Finance Corporation (the leading consumer finance company in the Philippines) and its CEO Bobby Jordan who are also shareholders of the bank.

It is the developer and operator of Zipcity— Asia Pacific’s first urban zipline attraction in the new Lisboeta Resort on Macau’s Cotai Strip. Zipcity takes riders from a 60-meter dedicated tower over the resort plaza, restaurants and shopping centre with views of the Cotai Strip and an audio-visual experience. Stem Financial is a strategic minority investor in APA and Philip sits on the board.

Stem Financial made a minority investment with a Board seat to provide strategic guidance and expertise. The value of the company tripled during our investment period.
